We're Still Here

Even If The Lights are Gone

Street's still wet, the smoke hangs low,

Every shadow moves like it already knows.

I count my steps, keep my shoulders square,

Every sound a question in the heavy air.

The windows stare like they've seen it all,

Chipped paint, bullet marks in the wall.

I run my hand over the concrete scar,

Proof of where we've been, who we are.

We're still here, even if the lights are gone,

Still here when the night feels twice as long.

Every whisper in the dark could break me in two,

But I've learned how to let it pass through.

I don't forget, I don't forgive,

But I've found new ways to live.

In the hush after the fight is done,

Every breath is a war I've won.

We're still here, even if the lights are gone,

Still here when the night feels twice as long.

Every whisper in the dark could break me in two,

But I've learned how to let it pass through.

Oh-oh-oh, let it pass through,

Oh-oh-oh, and I'll find you.
